Checklist

  • Creature of the week
    • Krafayis – a stranded animal, abandoned by its pack. This one happened to be blind and scared.
      • They have some kind of psychological camouflage
  • Bad CGI
    • The Krafayis wasn’t great. Good for it’s time, but not great.
  • Jiggery Pokery
    • TARDIS
      • Papers on the outside were incinerated while going through the time vortex. Captain Jack rode on that!
  • The Crack
    • The closest thing we get here is some allusions to Rory

Who’s Who?

  • Who is Rory?
    • He dead
  • Who is Amelia?
    • She’s sad but doesn’t know why.
    • Tripp thinks she’s happier without Rory.
      • Corbin says “carefree” is a better word than “happy”.
    • She’s not the marrying type.
  • Who is The Doctor?
    • “What do you have?” “A sense of overconfidence, a gadget, and a screwdriver. I’m absolutely sorted!”
    • Every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant.

Other stuff we noticed

  • The intro to the episode

Classic Who Connection

  • When the Doctor uses this gift from his godmother, the one with bad breath, to identify the Krafayis he tries it on himself first and it shows pictures of the first two doctors.
  • Amy talks about all the wonderful places that the Doctor has taken her recently. He’s doing this to keep her happy after Rory died (even though she doesn’t remember him).
    • The Fifth Doctor did the same thing after Adric died.

Overall impressions

  • Overall rating out of 10
    • Jared – 7 ginger beards
    • Austin – 9 invisible claws
    • Corbin –  7.5 sunflowers
    • Tripp -8.5 Van Goghs
  • Creep Level – out of 500
    • Jared – 100
    • Austin – 150
    • Corbin – 125
    • Tripp – 135

Theories

  • Corbin thinks The Crack will appear feature in every episode story and that either the Master or the New Paradigm Daleks or Davros are responsible for it and the Silence.
    • Maybe it’s not the Daleks.
    • The Doctor will blow up the TARDIS
  • Tripp thinks The Crack is the end of the universe like the end of the sidewalk. The Crack is in the Wall of the Universe.
    • He also thinks that when the Doctor messed with it in Eleventh Hour that it changed it and caused the problem.
  • Tripp thinks the Star Whale is significant and we’ll see it again.
    • Not yet…
  • Tripp thinks the Doctor is going to find a way to bring back Rory, and this will cause the TARDIS to explode which causes the Crack.
    • When Rory comes back, Amy won’t remember him and will have to fall in love again.
  • Corbin thinks Rory is coming back. They will find a way to stop the explosion which will cause Rory’s never having existed to not have existed.
